RockStarSon, youngest of 3, at age 6: "So, Ma, if you got one of these, there would only be room for one other person, right?"

Me: "Yep."

RockStarSon: "Hmmm, I really think you should get it."

Before the day I swore I'd never purchase another drop of gasoline some 5 years ago, I fully intended to one day buy myself a sweet little Mazda Miata.

Those days are gone, and now what I'd really like is a truck. Yep, a little beater that runs on trash. I don't think that's going to happen any time soon (unless someone wants to donate one to the "cause" *).

Meanwhile, we've all been lolling about a bit too much . . .

Ginsberg's trademark sleeping pose

Cora taking a break

Charlotte sharing her favorite spot on the "palace" with Ginsberg

. . .so Ginsberg, the girls, and I are gonna put some miles on this baby . . .

. . .at least till enough snow falls to bring out the sled.

Please try not to be too jealous.

* Transportation for the pack, the sled, and me to mushing events

hi kathleen - i don't drive. i dont even have a license - never have! ms. golden fish drives a miata, and for shopping or family expeditions a camry. the miata - for trips out with the golden fish daughter or son or sometimes the golden fish himself! top down, bugs in the teeth, posing, it's super sweet!

No way, Steven. No license? I LOVE that about you. RockStarSon at 23 only has his learner's permit. You can't believe the ribbing he's taken. Given the fact that I cannot take my dogs on the bus, I've come to the sad conclusion that to pursue my dream, I will need a grown-up vehicle at some point. Sad, but true.

Well, that whatchamacallit doesn't look even remotely like a red Mazda convertible. But - I guess it will have to suffice...

It's a 4-wheel pedal go-cart. Pretty cool, eh, Barb! LOL!
If my mom wasn't my mom, I'd wish you were my mom. Except you're not old enough. But you know what I mean, right?

Hi Kathleen, I know what you mean... my dream car was a subaru forester... lots of room, & all wheel drive... but I went with the corolla. Good gas mileage= less gas usage. (part of that decision was reading "being caribou~" i think you'd like that book) Cars that run on trash... or sunshine, a good idea!!! Are you car-free?
Ginsberg seems to get bigger by the day! Have I mentioned how cute he is?!

Canine energy and pedal power have to be much better for our environment. Thank you for reducing your carbon foot and paw prints in a very clever manner.

Gee, I really like the Mazda, but I have a truck which, unfortunately, does not run on left over fried chicken oil or any other type of trash...

Ginsberg is getting SOOOOO big. But still quite handsome. The girls are beautiful as always. It was nice being back here. I miss hanging out in the blogosphere.
