'Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy'

Happy Birthday
to my
Darling Sean!

This one's for you . . .

And the lyrics to John Lennon's gorgeous song:

Close your eyes,
Have no fear,
The monsters gone,
He's on the run and your daddy's here,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,

Before you go to sleep,
Say a little prayer,
Every day in every way,
It's getting better and better,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,

Out on the ocean sailing away,
I can hardly wait,
To see you to come of age,
But I guess we'll both,
Just have to be patient,
Yes it's a long way to go,
But in the meantime,

Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is just what happens to you,
While your busy making other plans,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,
Darling,
Darling,
Darling Sean

-----------

Such a surprise, such a delightful, life-altering, life-filling surprise you were 28 years ago.
You brighten all who come near you.
And lucky me, to have seen you come of age.
I love you,
~ Ma

Happy birthday Sean. Your mom is totally cool in selecting the perfect song to honor you on this special day.

Just had to come back and say: I'll bet I watched that part of Mr. Holland's Opus 50 times where Richard Dreyfus sand Beautiful Boy to his deaf son... and cried my eyes out each time!

A great song and wonderful tribute for a handsome young man's birthday. I add my best wishes for a happy birthday, too.

@ JENNIFER: Aw, thank you.

@ STEVEN: And Dad's as well, John would have us remember, it appears!

@ DARSDEN: Thank you! In countless ways.

@ BRAJA: Every day feels like "mother" day -- I like it that way!

@ BOOMER: True confession. A certain actor influenced my Sean's name! =^)

@ JANE: Thank you! Would you believe Mr. Holland's Opus was the first time I heard that song. And get this, Sean's best buddy is named Cole!

@ JANIE: Thank you!

Happy belated Birthday Sean - Hope it was even better than Golden! (Knew I'd seen that song done with such gratitude before, but couldn't remember where, thanks Gaston.) Congrats on your beautiful gift still bringing so much joy 28 years later!
