Water is a fascinating substance. Gas, liquid, solid. It will seep out of the tiniest hole, crack or crevice where nothing else will. It is life sustaining and soothing. Soft and yielding, yes, if you move into it and through it slowly, it pars if you arrow into it. But it is also the hardest substance, it does not compress as anyone who has done a belly flop can tell you.
@Mimi: Oh, how I wish I could paint, but nom it's by an artist named Jim Wagner. If you click on the gray text below the painting, you can see more of his work featured at Parks Gallery in Taos. Have a look!
@Hilary: Thank you, my dear. Ever bee to Taos? I think you'd love the galleries an natural beauty there. And on your way, you could stop in Minneapolis and visit me!!!
Lovely painting, and the quote is so true. Utah's wonderful canyons and mountains are largely hewn by wind and water. Day by day, they are gentle and weak, but applied over time, they make a huge difference. A lesson in persistence?

Thank you.
Wise words that probably don't occur to most folks in quite that way.
And the quote is very thought-provoking.
