The joy of 4 days off . . .
"I have merged, like the bird, with the bright air,
And my thought flies to the place by the bo-tree.
Being, not doing, is my first job."

What a grand reminder, especially in this season with such long lists of things to get done. Being, not doing.
I studied Theodore Rothke in my English Lit classes in college. Probably didn't appreciate those words then as much as I do now. Perspective is such an amazingly fluid thing, isn't it? What matters to you vaguely in your youth can become your anthem later in life.
Thank you for the thoughts today. I'll carry them with me.

What an extraordinary line:
"What matters to you vaguely in your youth can become your anthem later in life."
I need to learn more about Theodore Rothke! Can you point me to some good resources?
