Overheard while working out

"Honesty bows to compassion."

I rather like that that thought.

I like that thought, too. Compassion is something you have, or you lack. There is no faking it, so perhaps, honesty should bow to compassion.

Great thought and that photo should be entered into a contest, some where, some time.

I like the photo of the bowing flower. Compassion deserves homage, when we are honest enough to recognize it.

I like it as well: the virtue of honesty bowing to a higher virtue.

That is a GREAT quote. I've always said that a lie told to spare someone's feelings is holy.

each month my class focuses on a character trait. this month our character trait is honesty. the idea that honesty comes in many colours came from a student of mine who is buddhist. the class weren't sure where to go with that. they knew about white lies of course so we unpacked the whiteness and lo and behold, there was the colour of compassion. i remembered this post and so here i am. i hope that you are well and look forward to hearing more about you and your life! steven
